Do you ever stare at your email inbox and wonder, Where do all these emails come from? I get emails from companies that I don’t remember subscribing to. Or I’ve signed up for all the political action emails, and it’s just too overwhelming. Or I subscribed to an email list thinking it would be interesting/helpful, but I never end up reading those emails. So they all just pile together and I click delete over and over…

What Minimalism Means to Me

I’ve mentioned before how the concept of minimalism has helped me cope with my anxiety. I’ve been thinking more about what minimalism really means to me and how I apply it to my life.

There are so many different ways to define minimalism, and I don’t think you can get it wrong, as long as it works for you. Some people get kind of mad about how popular “minimalism” has become. Like, really mad (although they make some good points). But that’s okay. It’s not for everyone, and I get that it’s often commodified and diluted by privileged people (and I’m certainly privileged in many ways). But, I’ve come to think of this concept as simply a guiding force that helps me focus on what matters most. In doing that, I’ve found that for me, minimalism means freedom.
